Printemps is not just the word for ‘Spring‘ in French, but also the name of a luxury department store situated in the very heart of the city. Located near Opera and situated on Haussmann Boulevard, Printemps is the perfect place to check out some top Parisian fashion. It also happens to be home to a rooftop café, Deli-Cieux. The nearest metro stations are Opera and Bourse.
While the café is (unfortunately) not open late into the night like other rooftop bars from around the city, during the day, it provides the perfect respite from the bustling streets below. If you’re visiting Paris in the winter, it also happens to be one of the best places to catch the sunset. The best part about the café is that compared with other viewpoints in the city Its status as ‘well-kept secret’ means that you’re not constantly having to dodge out of the way of selfie sticks or worry that you’re ruining someone else’s photo.
Here, you can pick up a coffee for as little as €2 at Deli-Cieux café, and sit on the rooftop terrace. There’s both indoor and outdoor seating. After capturing photos, I tend to opt for the indoor seating as it’s often windy atop the rooftop!
I’ve never purchased any food here but have heard rather mixed reviews. However, with 360-degree views of the city, a choice of indoor or outdoor seating and a fast Wi-Fi connection, it’s the perfect place to sit and gaze at the Eiffel Tower. It’s also fast become my go-to study spot in Paris!
It would be a crime to finish this post without mentioning the Brasserie Printemps! Situated under the iconic stained glass dome that covers the center of the department store, a couple of floors below the rooftop terrace sits Brasserie Primtemps. Here, you’ll find a chic restaurant open daily until 8 pm.
