10+ Best wine bars in Paris
Ô Château
Located in the 1st arrondissement, close to Canopée des Halles, Ô Château was born in 2004 as a brand selling oenology courses. By 2011, the founding partners decided it was time to open the largest wine bar in Paris. Today, you can book wine tastings, head to the venue for over 50 wines and champagnes served by the glass, or even for dinner. Due to its popularity, I recommend booking in advance.
Le Baron Rouge
If you’re as much of a fan of the series Gossip Girl as I am, then you’ll no doubt have already heard of the wine bar Le Baron Rouge (the red baron) as this is where Chuck works during the Paris episodes of Gossip Girl.
The wine bar can be found in the 12th arrondissement and unfortunately doesn’t take reservations. On Saturdays and Sundays from mid-September until the end of April, you can purchase oysters to go alongside your wine.

Le Garde Robe
Another wine bar close to Châtelet is Le Garde Robe (which is translated into English as ‘the wardrobe’), which was created back in 2006. There’s a focus on natural wines here, and you can buy white, red, rosé, and orange wines by the glass or bottle.
Highlights include that there’s a terrace where you can sit and watch the world go by in the summer months, and you can buy food at the bar (the food onsite is prepared by chef Nigel and has a focus on organic, healthy, market-bought food).
Frenchie Bar à Vin
Located on the oh-so-chic rue du Nil (a street famed for its numerous culinary hotspots) in the second arrondissement, if you know anything about the wine scene in Paris, then you’ve probably heard of Frenchie.
From the sheer success of Frenchie, in the same manner in which the Michelin-star restaurant, Septime, launched a wine bar offering, Frenchie too has a wine bar offshoot which offers small plates paired with gorgeous wines.
The wine bar opened in Unfortunately they don’t accept reservations and so you’ll have to turn up on the day and hope for the best! My advice would be to turn up earlier rather than later as there isn’t a whole load of seating available at the wine bar.

Le Barav
This restaurant and wine bar can be found in the 3rd arrondissement of Paris, was founded back in 2007, and has outdoor seating. Cosy and friendly, there are over 250 wines within its collections. Le Barav doesn’t take reservations and so I recommend arriving by 7 PM if you want a good table!
Monsieur Henri
If you’re looking for a classy wine bar that doubles as the perfect date night venue, then Monsieur Henri in the 3rd arrondissement ticks all of the boxes. Oh, and they even serves up cocktails and, if you stay late enough into the night, you might even end up dancing!
This wine bar is pricier than some of the others on this list, but these prices certainly reflect the surrounding area (Le Marais is most certainly one of the chicer parts of the city).
A Lot of Wine
The catchy name of this wine bar which is just a stone’s throw away from the River Seine is memorable, as is the giant blow up balloons in the window displaying ‘a lot of wine’- so you quite literally will know you’re in the right place once outside.
In this cosy bar you’ll find a relaxed atmosphere and a menu boasting all kinds of wines, as well as non-alcoholic drinks. They also serve up a variety of small plates, including oysters and cheese.

Folderol
Those who love wine bars which offer a bit more than some tapas style plates and natural wines will soon fall in love with Folderol, which, as far as I know, is a completely unique concept in this city.
Opened in 2021, you can buy ice cream as well as pet-nat, making this bar à vin quite literally one of the coolest spots to hang out in the city (particularly during a warm summer’s evening when you’re craving an ice cream).
If you’re looking for something more savoury to soak up your wine, then they also sell foccacia. Unfortunately, Folderol doesn’t accept reservations and, to be honest, it’s become a bit of a victim of its success, as evidenced by the “no TikTok” sign on the front door.
L’Avant Comptoir du Marché
If you’re looking for a classically French wine bar where you can sit on a terrace, sip on a crisp glass of wine, and order some quintessentially French food to go alongside your drink, then this is the place to go.
Located in the 6th arrondissement, this wine bar is actually part of the L’Avant Comptoir chain. However, while most of their bars are standing room only, this wine bar is a little different in that it’s pretty spacious so you can easily relax to enjoy a meal (or just a glass of wine).
La Belle Hortense
This is truly one of the quaintest wine bars in Paris and I can’t help but snap a photo of the denim blue façade each time I’m in the 4th arrondissement. The bar is the perfect pairing of books meet wine (making it the perfect stop for literary lovers). You can also purchase nibbles like cold cuts and cheeses.

Cave Vino Sapiens
If you’re in search of a trendy wine bar close to the Eiffel Tower, in the Gros Cailloux district, then you need to look no further than Cave Vino Sapiens. The wine bar’s speciality is old vintages and, if you’re lucky, then you’ll even be able to enjoy your glass of wine in the presence of a winemaker.
Pratz
Nestled within trendy Pigalle, at the base of the butte of Montmartre, Pratz serves up natural wines by the glass or by the bottle. There’s a friendly crowd, and 80s music playlist, and you can buy small snacks to go with your wine such as charcuterie and cheese.
La Cave à Michel
Located in the 10th arrondissement, head to La Cave à Michel and you can expect to find natural wines served up with various tapas plates in a cool and intimate space. Created in 2014 by Romain and Maxime Tischenko following the success of their restaurant (Le Galopin), most of the wines on the menu are natural ones.
La Buvette
In the 11th arrondissement, an area known for its student bars, international cuisine, and late night nightlife, you’ll find La Buvette, a chilled-out wine bar serving up tapas, charcuterie & cheeses. The bar is focused on natural wines and unfortunately doesn’t take reservations so be sure to arrive by 7 PM in order to get a table!
Verjus Bar à Vins
This trendy little Parisian wine bar is tucked away in the basement, below the Verjus restaurant. Casual and laid-back, you’ll be served crisp traditional wines in a vaulted cellar. If you’re a little bit hungry, then there are several appetisers for sale, including olives, burrata, artichokes, and various cheeses.

En Vrac
This gem of a wine bar is a little off the beaten tourist track and is located in the 18th arrondissement. Comprising of little more than a single room filled with little tables and chairs, making it feel more akin to a living room more than anything else, there’s dozens of wines displayed on shelves all around the bar. There are also small dishes that you can order to go alongside your wine.
Le Vin au Vert
Literally translated into English as ‘green wine’, the concept of this bar à vin in Paris is simple: good natural and organic wines paired with simple plates of hot and cold food. You can also buy wine bottles to take home. The cave à manger was opened by wine enthusiasts Etienne Lucan and Sebastien Obert in 2009 and has been a popular venue among tourists and locals ever since.
Le 18 Oberkampf
This is one of the best-reviewed wine bars in Paris, and for good reason. Opened din September 2021, the bar has continued to be a roaring success from the outset and even hosts jazz nights where you can enjoy your wine while listening to live music. I’ve been a couple of times and love sitting at the bar and trying out the bartender’s suggestions.

Le Clown Bar
Since 2013, Le Clown bar has offered up stylish French fare in a setting which has been classed as a historic building of importance. The cellar boasts one of the largest collections of natural wines in paris and so you’ll never be short of a wine to choose from.
UVA Cave
This hip and trendy wine bar is in Paris’ 11th arrondissement and is 100% dedicated to natural wines. Open from Tuesday through to Saturday (and closed Sundays and Mondays), you can’t reserve so turn up promptly to grab one of the few tables in this bar. They also serve small bites like cheese.
Martin (boire et manger)
Yet another über cool wine venue in the 11th is Martin, whic is just a stone’s throw away from République. I’ve been a handful of times and enjoy the selection of natural wines (even if I wasn’t a super fan of the orange wine which was recommended) and also the small plates which change seasonally.

Les Amoureuses
Literally translated into English as ‘the lovers’ this wine bar is the perfect cosy date night venue. They even have a mouthwatering selection of dishes to go alongside the wine.
Le Paon Qui Boit
Though not a wine bar per se, I thought I would add a little wine-bar like suggestion for those who wish to have the atmosphere of a wine bar without any alcohol. Le Paon Qui Boit is the first bar of its kind in Paris and they only serve alcohol-free beverages! The shop is cosy and while not a bar that you can go out and drink at, they do hold regular tastings (for a fee).
