Step #1: So, first things first: edit the photo that you want to change the leaf colour on.
I use Snapseed and Fotor to edit my photos so that I have the final edit before changing the leaf colour. This means that the photo will be completely ready to post on Facebook or Instagram when you’ve finished with the leaf colour.
Step #2: Download the app Photo Director from the Play Store.
I absolutely love this app. Not only can you use it to change leaf colours, but you can also add light and natural looking lens flares to your photos. There I go, spilling all of my editing secrets!
Step #3: Go into the app and select your photo.
From the editor menu at the bottom of the screen, select the option ‘Adjust’. Click on the ‘HSL’ function- right-hand corner of the second menu. In this function, you can change the saturation, brightness, and tone of the colour.
Step #4: Change the leaves to your desired colour and then press the tick in the right-hand corner of the screen.
You may have to re-HSL your photos to get your desired colour. For example, to get pink from green, first, change the leaves from green to orange. Then press the tick and return back into the HSL function to change the leaves from orange to pink!

This is so cool. I have seen a series of pictures coming out with purple leaves that I just didn’t believe. They are beautiful and baffling at the same time. Now I know the magic behind there mirror. Thank you so much.
That’s incredible! Thanks for all of the great tips. I can’t believe you were able to do this with just cell phone apps! Wow.
Wow and to think I had never even heard of this. I use my DSLR for most of our blog pictures and edit them on the computer, but this will be so awesome for my personal snaps. Thanks a lot 🙂
