If you’re looking to brighten up your home or are simply looking for an unusual gift, then a plant may well be the thing to purchase! And in the past few years, there has been a real resurgence in the popularity of houseplants, leading to a boom in plant shop openings across Paris, not to mention a wider range of wares for sale. Here’s your ultimate guide to plants in Paris, including the best shops to purchase them and when to go!

Plantes Pour Tous
Hands down, the place to go is the several times a year sale of Plantes Pour Tous, which pop up at various locations across the city for a weekend at a time. Plants are priced at €2, €5 and €10, with a few larger plants between €15 and €30.
In general, the houseplants are incredibly well-priced for central Paris and in an eco-saving measure, it’s even possible to pay for your plants to be repotted in ceramic pots at a cost of an extra €2. And while you won’t find the most unusual plants at his sale, gems include Painted Leaf Begonias, Peperomias (radiator plants), and even fig trees! Find more details about the next sale here.
Sandrine Fleurs Vente Éphémère
Much like Plantes Pour Tous, Sandrine Fleurs Vente Éphémère sells a wide variety of plants. Priced at €2, €5, €10, and €15, with larger and more unique plants priced at a higher rate, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. At a recent pop up Paris plant sale, I picked up a lipstick hoya for €15 and also noticed that the plant store offered more unique offerings such as living rocks and some pretty unusual calatheas.
Ground Control
If you can’t make it to one of the Plantes Pour Tous pop-up sales, then fear not for the brand even now have their own permanent stall in Ground Control. Located in the 12th arrondissement of this city, this former warehouse/ station site turned cultural space hosts events throughout the year and is home to a myriad of some pretty cool shops.
Selling all kinds of books, handcrafted gifts, and prints, Plantes Pour Tous also has a small boutique selling smaller houseplants at reasonable prices. I personally purchased a potted Monstera for €10. Afterwards, you can even grab a beer with friends and sit in an old airplane turned drinking spot! Find out more details and opening hours here.
Leroy Merlin
One of the most affordable plant stores in Paris which I’ve recently stumbled upon is that of Leroy Merlin, who boast several boutiques dotted across the city. Though technically a homeware shop offering furnishings, floorings, light fixtures, and the like, there’s a substantial plant section offering house plants and accessories at reasonable rates. From small succulents and cacti to larger ferns and even hanging plants, you’re sure to find something you like.
IKEA Paris La Madeleine
It may well surprise you, but there’s actually a fairly well-stocked IKEA to be found within the confines of the Paris peripherique itself. Situated steps away from the neo-Classical Eglise de la Madeleine, the plant selection is fairly small in comparison with other IKEA stores but nevertheless offers a selection of houseplants with which you can fill your home.
After all, there’s a pretty good choice of orchids, small succulents, and cacti. There are also a few larger plants for sale, including the occasional oversized Euphorbia (priced at around €40), sometimes some Calatheas for sale, and I’ve always seen peace lilies upon entering the store. IKEA is also a great place to pick up houseplant pots and planters for a good deal!
Galeries Lafayette
As one of the oldest department stores in Paris, many visitors to the city add the shop to their list of must-see Paris locations on account of the main building’s wonderful rooftop terrace and beautiful Art Nouveau terrace. Just across the road, in a newer acquisition building, there’s a food hall, as well as a large selection of pots and plants. Perhaps most uniquely of all, there’s also even table lamps which double as terrariums filled with nerve plants.
LEAF Paris
Situated in the ever-popular 10th arrondissement of the city, i.e. where you’ll find the likes of Canal Saint Martin and some of the coolest bars in the city, LEAF is a must-visit for any plant lover out there. Open from Wednesdays through to Sundays, the houseplant store has been in business for just over two years. Find out more about this Paris plant shop here.
Mama Petula
If you’re never heard of a ‘concept plant store’ before, then you have now! Located in the former hospital turned community space, Les Grands Voisins, this Parisian plant shop is only open on Saturdays and Sundays, and only then during the hours of 2 PM to 7 PM.

Garden Truffaut Paris
Though not so much of a specialist houseplant shop, per se, on account of the fact that they also sell a number of pet supplies and outdoor gardening goods, Garden Truffaut still remains one of the best places to purchase plants in Paris.
Set in an enormous warehouse, the gardening store is open every day of the week and sells more unique products, such as carnivorous houseplants. There are now several Truffaut locations scattered across the French capital. Find out more details for visiting here.
Les Succulents Cactus
One of the more specialist Paris plant shops is that of Les Succulents Cactus in the 3rd arrondissement of the city, i.e. Le Marais. Head to the store during opening hours and you can expect to find all kinds of cacti and succulents in beautiful terracotta pots. From prickly pears to euphorbia, this shop has you covered! Just note that the Parisian plant store is a little on the pricier side of things!
