Paris. City of love. City of Lights. And the kind of place where it can be hard to find a good hotel in exactly the right location! Well, the Hotel Plaza Elysées actually has the perfect position and is situated right on Boulevard Haussmann. (Yes the very same street as Galeries Lafayette and Musée Jacquemart Andre!)
Door to door, you can easily reach Parisian attractions such as the Arc de Triomphe and the Champs Elysées within a short ten-minute walk. Yet another bonus on location is that the hotel is pretty close by to many of the major metro lines the city has to offer. From here, you can easily reach Montmartre (metro line 2) and leave the city for Disneyland Paris (RER A).

The Plaza Elysées: Classical Style in the Heart of the 8e arrondissement
Located in the charming 8e arrondissement of the city, the Plaza Elysées Hotel is situated in a typical Haussmannian style building, complete with all the architectural features you’d expect from such a structure (think pretty ornate mouldings, wrought iron balconies and great attention to detail).
Some rooms even have their own balconies from which you can admire the French rooftops and watch little slices of Parisian life unfold. I could have stayed on my little balcony, sipping on a coffee and watching the world go by all morning, if not all day!

In total, there are 41 recently renovated rooms in the Classical style, with four types of room to choose from. Each style of room comes at a different price point, meaning that the hotel is suitable for a whole range of budgets, as well as family, solo and couple travellers.
The boutique rooms come softly furnished and are fully soundproofed meaning that it’s easy to sleep through the night despite the bright lights of Paris being (quite literally) on your doorstep!

The (bed)Room at the Hotel Plaza Elysées
Of course, one of the most important aspects of a hotel (apart from its cleanliness and helpfulness of staff- which is a given when you stay at the Hotel Plaza Elysées) is its bedrooms.
The Plaza Elysées has all the amenities you would expect from a 4-star hotel; speedy WiFi, air conditioning, flat screen TVs, a kettle complete with coffee and tea, a wardrobe and a desk with a comfortable chair to work from. I entered my room to be greeted with a handwritten note wishing me a good stay- a lovely touch!

Buffet Breakfast at the Hotel Plaza Elysées
When it comes to getting your caffeine dose in the morning, the hotel offers a buffet style spread on its first floor for an extra fee. There are two options, one comes with hot drinks, juices and pastries, while the other comprises of a complete continental spread with beverages.
Within the continental spread, you’ll find a whole selection of jams, cheeses, cereals, cold meats and more. I thoroughly enjoyed my coffee overlooking Boulevard Haussmann and watching the little café on the other side of the street, as well as all the little people passing below on their way to and from destinations unknown…

Attractions near the Hotel Plaza Elysées
It has to be said that one of the very best parts of the hotel is its close proximity to many of the major attractions that make Paris such a must-see. After all, from the hotel, you can easily walk to the Champs Elysées, up the street to watch an opera performance at the Opera Garnier and to the many museums that make the city worth a visit.
Arc de Triomphe
Of course, no trip to Paris would be complete without at least a quick glance of the world-famous Arc de Triomphe! If you have a little longer to spare, then why not climb the spiralling steps and enjoy one of the best panoramic views Paris has to offer from the top…
Parc Monceau
The delightful green space of Parc Monceau truly is an oasis in the heart of the city. Full of pretty architectural pieces, you could easily spend a morning here enjoying a Parisian picnic and watching the world go by.
Pagoda Paris
An architectural gem tucked away in the streets of the 8e arrondissement, the Pagoda Paris really is a sight to see! You also pass it on your way from the hotel to the Parc Monceau, making it a great place to snap photos!
Galeries Lafayette
This department store is one of Paris’ ‘Grand Magasins’. Here, you’ll find a whole range of luxury goods to buy from clothing essentials to homeware pieces.
At the top of the art-nouveau style store, you’ll also find a free rooftop terrace with great views over the city. In the winter time, there’s also a giant Christmas tree in the inside courtyard of the main building, which is well worth a peek at in of itself.

Thanks to the Hôtel Plaza Elysées for hosting me! All opinions photos and words remain my own!

I stayed at this hotel for a few nights during my trip to Paris, but unfortunately I lost all my photos when my laptop crashed.. So thank you for the beautiful memories, and I agree this is such a great hotel for some Parisian charm and a great location too.
