Snapshot Saturday: 23rd January
Recently, I’ve found myself telling everyone I know and then everyone that they know that my new favourite hobby is taking photographs.
I am always drawn to the person in the person in the room discreetly holding their camera.
I now spend my Friday evenings discussing new photograph ideas and the best
Yep, I think we’ve now established that I’m a loser!
So a couple of days ago, I was thinking… why not start a Saturday Series! And so Snapshot Saturday was conceived.
Every Saturday a photoessay will be posted on the blog. This will mean that A) My written content won’t become oversaturated with photos & B) You won’t all be bored with too many similar shots if you follow me on instagram.
For this week’s instalment (and also the first- in case that wasn’t already screamingly clear), I’m doing a broad essay on my favourite city, Paris.
First though, some fast facts about Paris:
- There are 6100 streets in the city.
- The city of love is not only also the city of lights… but a city of dogs. There are more dogs than children in Paris (as many as 300,000- woah that’s a lot of poop!)
- During Roman times, Paris was known as Lutetia.
- There is only one stop sign in the centre of Paris.
- The name ‘Paris’ comes from a celtic tribe that resided in the area; the Parisii.
Arc de Triomphe: My favourite view over Paris AND my all time favourite view over the Eiffel Tower has got to be from here!
Palace of Versailles: My favourite day trip out of Paris.
Trocadero at sunrise: My favourite sunrise over Paris.

Sainte’Chapelle: Probably the most beautiful church interior I’ve ever seen!
Admiring the Eiffel Tower: Do I really have to explain this one?!
Notre Dame: The best all round view over the city.
The Covered passages of Paris: Some of the best places to window shop come rain or shine!
Palais Royal: The most symmetrical part of the city!
Paris at night: Paris is always a good idea!
