Never mind the gap* and the population’s fondness for discussing the weather, there is nowhere in the World quite like London! If you’ve ever been to London, you’ll know that life in the big smoke is hectic, chaotic and there’s always something to see/do. So here are some London life snapshots of my time here so far in the form of postcards from the big smoke…

*You know, when you get off the train and there’s that announcement “mind the gap!”

London Life: At the Station!

British people complain about the weather all the time! But you have to give them some slack because they definitely have reason to do so. On average, it rains over a hundred days a year in the UK’s capital city. Luckily, all this rain means that there are plenty of opportunities to take puddlegrams!

London Life Snapshots : Covent Garden!

Covent Garden is one of those places that you could visit again and again…

Filled with shops, cafés, bars and unlimited entertainment, the name ‘Covent Garden’ actually comes from a misspelling of ‘convent’! It’s the perfect place to head to come rain or shine thanks to its covered ceiling.

London Life: at the shops…

When I wrote about the Oldest Sweet Shop in Devon a couple of months back, I knew that I’d have to try and find some more sweet shops to photograph for Instagram!

Isn’t this store just the cutest? And, as if the storefront isn’t convincing enough, the inside is filled to bursting point with all manner of sweet treats.

London life: Regent Street!

No collection of postcards from London would be complete without (at least!) a gentle nod to London’s iconic shopping street. Crossing with Oxford Street, it’s here that you’ll find all the high end designer shops mixed in with high street brands.

Regent Street is also home to Hamley’s Toy Store. Self-branded ‘the finest toy store in the World’, the shop easily lives up to its name with floors filled with tens of thousands of toys. The street also happens to be the perfect place to snap a photo of an iconic London bus!

Life in London: Google HQ!

I don’t know what it is about London, but it’s infinitely harder to find rooftops views around the city than it ever was in Paris. That being said, a couple of weeks ago, I headed to an Instagram meet hosted by @London and Google. Well, all I can say is that the view from the Google HQ roof terrace is pretty neat!

Life in London: Leicester Square

And then that rare moment of shining sunshine appears, you’ll suddenly forget that you’re always complaining about the weather… Leicester Square is situated in the very heart of London, right by Piccadilly Circus.

Come night time, visit a little roof terrace bar called ‘Ruby Blue’. Trust me. You’ll thank me later! With a great happy hour offer and an amazing view over Leicester Square, it’s the perfect place to catch up with friends over a cocktail or two (or three)!

Awesome! I suggest the rooftop cultivate at the Culpeper in Spitalfields for a bar perspective of the Gherkin or the Sky Garden in the Walkie Talkie! Be that as it may, the best perspectives in London are on top of Primrose Hill in Camden.

    Nice photos!!

For rooftop views in London I recommend the roof garden at the Culpeper in Spitafileds for a pub view of the Gherkin or the Sky Garden in the Walkie Talkie!

But the best views in London are on top of Primrose Hill in Camden. Perfect on NYE!
