Coffee culture is alive and well in London. And the Fork Deli Patisserie situated in the heart of Bloomsbury, central London is a testament to this. Situated in trendy Bloomsbury, the café is well within walking distance of famous tourist hot spots like the British Museum and the British Library (home to the Magna Carta). It’s also pretty close to University College London.

The coffee is delicious and fairly reasonably priced for central London (less than £2 with a student discount). The food is also pretty tasty, if slightly overpriced. As a result, the shop is constantly packed with students on their laptops, as well as locals. That there’s only ever one or two tables to spare just goes to show how friendly and helpful all the baristas are. Plus, speaking from experience, the patisseries taste pretty good too! I’ve definitely sampled more than a few on my multiple visits to this cute coffee shop…

It’s also worth mentioning that the decor of Fork Deli Patisserie is super pretty; all aged wood and distressed metal. It’s the perfect place to catch up on emails, get stuck into a really good book, or even just catch up with friends. A 10% student discount, on presentation of a valid student ID, doesn’t go amiss either.

What’s on the Fork Deli Patisserie Menu?

For a coffee shop with around 20 covers, there’s a surprising amount on the menu. From all manners of patisseries (think: croissants, muffins, and custard tarts), there’s also a lot of savoury dishes on offer. Now, I’m normally the kind of girl who would go for the sweet stuff every time, but the salads (and their garnishings) literally tasted like ambrosia from Mount Olympus itself. I’m still trying to work out how they made the chickpeas taste so flavoursome… However, at over £6 a pop for a fairly small quiche and salad, I’m still not really sure that the hefty price tag is merited…

Oh, and if all that wasn’t already enough, it’s worth noting that they always have these amusing signs outside the doorway! Every time I walk by, there’s always something on the chalkboard that will make me smile…

This place looks beautiful, and it’s not too far from me either! I might check this one out.
