One of the most fun new movies on the block by Netflix is Do Revenge, a dark American dramatic comedy teen movie with more twists and turns than you can wrap your head around. Here are some of the best Do Revenge filming locations!
Do Revenge is inspired by 1990s and early 2000s teen movies like Mean Girls and Clueless. There’s even a star performance from the queen of teen movies herself, Sarah Michelle Gellar, who was skyrocketed to fame after Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Cruel Intentions. In Do Revenge, Gellar plays the principal.
The film plays homage to the earlier teen movies really well, with an A+ for costume design and a vintage wash over the camera footage to give the film an extra nostalgic touch. There’s also a cameo by Sophie Turner.

What is the plot of Do Revenge?
The movie centres around a budding friendship between two teenage girls who are from completely different walks of school life. Camila Mendes (from Riverdale) plays cool and popular girl Drea while Maya Hawke (from Stranger Things) plays a nerdy girl, Eleanor, who is forced to go to school with her old bully.
The duo join forces after Drea’s sex tape is leaked by her ex-boyfriend. Drea and Eleanor’s relationship blossoms into a somewhat surprising friendship, though all is not as it seems! Rumour has it that the film was partly inspired by Alfred Hitchcock classic, Strangers on a Train and the original working title for Do Revenge was Strangers.
The film was originally meant to be shot in Los Angeles, but this didn’t work with the actors schedules and so the decision was taken to move the setting to Miami, Florida (a major coastal city that’s the Gateway to the Florida Keys), with most of the filming taking place in Atlanta, Georgia.

Oglethorpe University
The campus that is used to stand in for Rosehill Country Day School, where both the girls attend, is actually a university as opposed to a high school! Oglethorpe University is a liberal arts college located in Atlanta that boasts plenty of beautiful Gothic Revival architecture.
A few things about the campus were tweaked around in order to pay homage to the American teen films which have come before. This included adding a ‘Horowitz Hall’ sign as an ode to Cher Horowitz from Clueless and adding a fountain (where the popular kids hang out in the film) as an ode to Scream. The scenes within the interior of the school was largely filmed in a studio.
CURIO at Faena Bazaar
No teenage movie would be complete without two elements: the mall and the makeover. In Do Revenge, the girls head to the mall so that Drea can give Eleanor a makeover in terms of makeup, clothing, etc. CURIO at Faena Bazaar is a real life place in the Faena district of Mimai that offers clients the chance to shop 20,000 square foot of clothing, makeup, jewellery, etc.
Miami South Beach
Though a healthy share of filming took place in Atlanta, several iconic scenes from the move were shot onsite in Miami Beach. Several of the more notable scenes take place of Miami South Beach, including when Drea goes to the beach and sees Russ and Carissa and also when Eleanor and Drea drink wine on the beach near the end of the film.
Eleanor and Gabbi’s date also takes place close to the beach, somewhere along Ocean Drive. The two can be seen enjoying an adorable picnic on the grass, with the beach behind, in a busy area of Miami.
