People seem to have a love-hate relationship with Paris. To many, it is either the most photogenic city in the world or the least! If you’ve spoken to me for all of 2 seconds, you’ll know that I’m definitely team LOVE Paris! So if you’re not sure whether you’re a Paris lover or Paris hater, here are 5 photos that will make you want to pack your bags and visit Paris. Like, yesterday!

Paris Pantheon

The view from the Paris pantheon is simply breathtaking! If you’re looking for a view of Paris without too many crowds, then I can’t recommend a visit to the Paris Pantheon enough.

Being interred in the Paris Pantheon is one of the greatest honours that a French citizen can ever earn. It is here, in the Pantheon crypt, where you can find the likes of Marie Curie and Voltaire (spoiler alert: Voltaire wasn’t his real name!).

Enjoying a picnic on Champ de Mars

French food doesn’t taste better anywhere in the world than it does in France. Fact. In fact French food alone may make you want to pack your bags and move to Paris! Think macarons, baguette, wine and even more sweets. If you like meat and cheese, then France is pretty much the place to go!

Champ de Mars (English translation Mars’ Field- i.e. as in the Roman god, Mars) is the place to head to if you want a truly French picnic experience. Think Eiffel Tower at sunset surrounded by your closest friends.

If you want to secure a spot on the grass in the Summer time, make sure to head to the park by around 7pm to ensure the best pick of picnic spots!

Notre Dame at Sunset

Did I already mention that the low rooftops in Paris (there are very few skyscrapers in the city) mean that sunset is great from the majority of spots in the city? In fact, there is a law preventing skyscrapers being built meaning that it’s all the more surprising that Tour Montparnasse exists!

Head to one of the quays lining the Seine for sunset with a couple of glasses of wine for one of the most special sunsets you’ll ever experience.

Louvre Museum

If you’re a history nerd, then pack your bags and visit Paris right now! Paris is home to the largest museum in the World: the Louvre. As the largest museum in the World, you’d be hard pressed to visit the Louvre and not find something you find interesting!

And if you don’t find the art interesting, then you’ll almost definitely find the architecture is worth a peek. The iconic glass pyramid (as seen in the film the Da Vinci Code) that dominates the centre of the main Louvre courtyard has almost become as iconic as the museum itself.

Sunrise at Trocadéro

The final in the series of pack your bags and visit Paris is my favourite activity of all! So how do you see the Eiffel Tower without the crowds? Well, you get up before everyone else, of course! In the summer, this can mean setting your alarm for as early as 5AM… However, in the Winter, you can easily sleep in until 7AM and still catch the sun’s first rays.

If you’ve ever seen my Facebook feed, you’ll know that I’m a huge fan of getting up before the crowds and taking some golden hour shots of the Iron Lady…

I went to Paris when I was 8, so I don’t remember much (sadly). I guess I’d be on the Paris-love-team though and looking at your pictures, I really should go rather sooner than later.

Hi Sophie ! I’m actually from Paris so thank you for being on the Paris love team! I read your bio I had to check if you were French or not because your name sounds French! You said you had to passport so I guess the second one is French?^^ Your blog and your photos are absolutely stunning !! I’m glad you get people to be inspired to visit Paris ! I’m also sometimes on a love/hate relationship with it too but overall it’s a pretty amazing city to visit! 🙂

I went to Paris about 16 years ago and would love to go back to explore more! I think Paris is one of those cities you can enjoy just walking around in without rushing to see any sites (and the parks are gorgeous!).

Wow! These photos definitely made me want to come back and visit Paris again!! I love how many picnics you took while you were there! The Euro is a bit more than the Canadian dollar, and it’s hard to find places to eat sometimes as a gluten and dairy intolerant vegetarian. (I’m the worst, I swear!) I will definitely have to refer back to your tips for the next time I make it to Paris- and great tip about catching the sunrise. I’m always worried about leaving my camera equipment if I have my back turned in photos. With no one around, I would feel a lot better.

Cool and interesting fact to learn that there are law against building skyscrapers! That’s great because they can tend to ruin the aesthetics sometimes. Beautiful place is Paris!

Oh my gosh Sunrise at Trocadéro is my favourite picture of the 5. While I loved Paris, I said I wouldn’t visit for a while. But this makes me really want to go back soon.
